Commissioner Tom Collins files for re-election
in District B

Emphasizes deep roots in the community, a history of service.

Tom Collins, the Clark County Commissioner representing District B, filed for re-election to his second term early today, the first day of filing for the 2008 election. Collins, who served in the Nevada State Assembly for five sessions prior to his election to the County Commission in 2004, emphasized his deep roots in the community he represents and his history of service.

“I’ve lived in Southern Nevada since I was one year old, graduated from Western High School, married my wife here 40 years ago, raised our family, coached youth sports, built our business and worked with our neighbors here in District B to protect our way of life,” Collins said. “I want to do what I’ve always done—roll up my sleeves and keep working.”

Collins, known as a straight-talking, hands-on public figure, said he didn’t know what opposition he would face. “It really doesn’t matter,” Collins said. “I have my record of service, my commitment to protecting our way of life, and I’ll be running hard to win.”
